BLOGS AT THE U: Adjunct assistant professor of English Michael Tortorello recently began writing a recurring gardening column
http://ecommunication.umn.edu/t/102573/718088/48357/0/ for the New York Times, chronicling his own adventures in gardening at his Minneapolis home. Tortorello will continue to update his blog throughout the summer. Keep up with other high-flying U blogs, like Gary Schwitzer's health news blog and Eric Ostermeier's Smart Politics at Faculty and Staff

U OF M MOMENT: When mom and dad start Facebooking. A few years ago, online social networking sites such as Facebook were dominated by college students. Now mom and dad have discovered they can use them, too. That was one of the reasons why Parent Program director Marj Savage has updated her book, You're On Your Own (But I'm Here If You Need Me). Savage says parents are increasingly embracing social networking, which is unsettling for some newly independent students. To listen, visit U of M Moment
